The successful candidate could be an experienced coder with at least one game developed from start to finish or a very talented junior programmer keen to take the next step in their career or a superstar graduate looking for their first role in the industry.

You will be expected to jump straight into the project so we are looking for a confident programmer with good technical skills and the ability to effectively manage their workload. At Firefly we like to give team members a degree of freedom over their work so you will need to be self motivated, hard working and reliable, happy to work within a team or individually, enjoy responsibility and have the ability to take the initiative and go beyond the brief where needed.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Unity 3D;
  • Excellent knowledge of C#;
  • A good understanding of OOP;

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience of working with databases;
  • Experience of developing for iOS and Android;
  • A good understanding of C++;
  • Experience of working with source control;
  • Experience of taking part in game jams;

You will be required to demonstrate your skills via at least one playable game demo. We see a lot of coursework demos but what we really love to see are demos produced in your own time that show off your talent, your love of programming, your thought processes and your ability to start and finish a project.

Experience within the games industry is not essential but an interest of being involved in the games industry is important.

Firefly Studios is a small, fun, dynamic, social team, ideal for fun, dynamic, social people who happen to be awesome programmers. We offer a creative and flexible working environment that allows its employees the freedom and opportunities to maximise their talent.
